What do you get when you cross wrestling and politics? On the Stump is perfect for our current political climate. That’s kind of a broad satire comment in regards to this new book. The concept opens up literally “On The Stump”. Two senators from different states are squaring off to either get their bill to congress or their butts handed to them. It’s a great metaphor for taking bills up to Congressional Hill. The senators both come off as wrestlers from the WWF. The main character’s name happens to be Jack Hammer. The fight has twists and turns. It opens the plot up to a bigger picture. It’s definitely a much more violent picture as well The other senators in the story are much more colorful and burly. Thunder is one in particular. Prenzy’s art and action scenes are kinetic and great pieces of violence. It mirrors the under-sided world that is politics happens to represent. There are other characters introduced through out this story that play different roles that happen affect each character harshly. This is good start to an interesting book and twist on a ugly political world. It could eventually come closer to a sense of actual realism. It could also continue to be grudge matches On The Stump.
