ESRB: M for Mature

ESRP: $19.99

With Red Faction Guerrilla, THQ set out to change the landscape of sandbox games everywhere. 9 years later, THQ Nordic (different company, same premise) set out to give us that experience again but a shiny new coat. THQ Nordic remastered Red Faction Guerrilla and this time around Mars looks a lot prettier. Boasting up to 1080p resolution, Red Faction Guerrilla doesn’t just look pretty, but it plays beautifully as well.

Red Faction Guerrilla takes place 50 years after the original, you lead a newly established red faction movement battling for liberation. You’ll take on the Earth defense force as you battle across Mars, destroying anything and everything in your path. Featuring fully destructible environments, if you can see it, you can destroy it. You’re given tons of weapon options from C4 charges to grenades, to rifles, shotguns and even a fire axe to bring the mayhem with.

The controls for the game are a tad bit on the touchy side as the camera movement is a bit fast and the movement can be over the place, but this can be changed in the settings. Overall, the game is a fantastic experience, while having minor bugs and glitches, it is thoroughly enjoyable.

If you are a fan of blowing things up, defending mars, the original version, or just open-world shooters, Red Faction Guerilla Re-Mars-Tered Edition is a can’t miss.
