2018 is looking to be possibly one of the most stacked years in gaming in a really long time and we couldn’t be anymore excited! Today we’re gonna take a look at the top 10 games that not only have us excited, but that also look more than promising.
10.) Madden 19:
I understand with sports games, for most gamers there’s no excitement. For the hardcore football fans though, Madden has delivered a fantastic experience, year after year. Madden 19 looks to up the ante with brand new cut and stop motions, all new player detail, and even the continuation of the Long Shot story mode. Madden 19 will release on August 10th for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One
9.) Shadow Of The Tomb Raider:
Back in 2013 when the Tomb Raider franchise was rebooted, everyone had mixed feelings on whether or not Edios Montreal could do the series justice. Tomb Raider was met with critical praise and a follow up was release a couple of years later titled Rise Of The Tomb Raider. While that one was met with high praise as well, we’re getting the finale of the trilogy. Shadow Of The Tomb Raider looks promising, as it’s boasting a larger world and a more personal experience than ever before. Shadow Of The Tomb Raider will launch on September 14th, 2018 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
8.) Mega Man 11:
This one seemed like an extremely long wait. After fans were displeased with Mighty Number 9, Capcom jumped back into action and announced Mega Man 11. Using the familiar gameplay fans know and love, Mega Man 11 looks to be what fans have been clamoring for. Mega Man 11 will hit store shelves and digital fronts on October 2nd, 2018 for the Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
7.) Spyro Reignited Trilogy:
This one caught fans off guard as the last time we saw Spyro, it was in the Skylanders series. Spyro is back, sorta. Much like the Crash Bandicoot remaster, the Reignited Trilogy aims to bring the original three Spyro games back and better than ever. Boasting brand new graphics, mixed with familar gameplay, this is one remaster that looks worthy of a pick up. Spyro Reignited Trilogy will release on September 21st 2018 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
6.) Super Mario Party:
When Nintendo announced Super Mario Party for the Switch, I’ll admit, I jumped a bit with joy. As a fan of the Mario Party games growing up, seeing the experience shared on the Switch hit my nostalgia spot. Then finding out that you can link Switches together to rearrange the map during mini games just made the game much cooler. Super Mario Party will launch on October 5th, 2018.
5.) Assassin’s Creed Odyssey:
Assassin’s Creed Origins refreshed the series on a level that was much deeper than fans could ever imagine. So Ubisoft is looking to replicate that magic with the next entry Odyssey. Boasting a more RPG feel with a full dialog wheel for conversations, a leveling system closer to the likes of Mass Effect, and a brand new option to play the entire game as a male or female has Odyssey as a stand out title on our list. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will launch On October 5th, 2018 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
4.) Fallout 76:
If you’re new to the site, I have an article detailing why 3 years after it’s initial release, Fallout 4 still has me trapped in it’s beautiful web. As a Fallout fan, nothing delighted me more than when it was revealed that we were getting a full fledged online version of Fallout. Fallout 76 will have a map that is 4x the size of Fallout 4 and will allow you to play both solo or with friends. Boasting a world full of actual player characters and no NPC’s, Fallout 76 looks and sounds like a promising experience. Fallout 76 will launch on November 14th, 2018 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
3.) Red Dead Redemption 2:
The game speaks for itself. It’s a wild west Grand Theft Auto. Red Dead Redemption 2 looks to take the top spot of Game Of The Year. RDR2 is a prequel to the first, seeing you play as Arthur Morgan in The Dutch Gang before it’s demise. John Marston is confirmed to appear and the game is set to be the most ambitious game Rockstar has tackled. Red Dead Redemption 2 will launch on PS4 and Xbox One on October 26th, 2018.
2.) LEGO DC Super-Villains:
I can already hear it, “What’s a LEGO game doing on a Top 10 Upcoming Games List?!” Just hear me out for a second. The LEGO games have always been awesome and something worth playing. With this particular title, you get to play as the bad guys. Better yet, you get to create your own bad guy! Totally cool right? Right?! LEGO DC Super-Villains will launch on October 16th, 2018 for the Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
1.) Marvel’s Spider-Man:
Sticking with the super hero genre, we have our number 1. Now there’s nothing I can say that will do this justice other than if you are fan of super heroes (of course you are, you’re on our site!) then do yourself a favor, pick up a PS4 if you don’t already have one and make sure to get Marvel’s Spider-Man. This entry in the webhead’s life see’s him 8 years into being Spider-Man, so no retelling of his origins here. The game will feature similar combat to the Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham games. Marvel’s Spider-Man will launch exclusively on the PS4 on September 7th.
These are just the top 10 of what we here at the site are excited for. There’s plenty more coming out this year. Sound off in the comments and let us know what you’re excited for and as always, keep your browsers webbed here for reviews on all of these titles and more!
