DC Comics has revealed their big plans for next year to USA Today. Coming in April 2015, they will release Covergence #0 whch will get the ball rolling for their latest event. If you think this is just another typical event guess again.
Convergence #0 will signal the hiatus for all of DC’s titles for two months while Covergence splits off into 40 two-part mini series. Going through April and May, each mini series will examine DC’s various heroes throughout different times of all of DC Comics.
“It captures the full essence and scope of DC’s incredible history and storytelling,” says co-publisher Dan DiDio. “There is a story and a character for every generation of DC Comics fan.”
The story will rise from the end of both Earth 2: World’s End and The New 52: Futures End. Braniac has trapped cities from various DC timelines and planets and is releasing them together on a domed planet, outside of space and time, to see what happens. This gives the oppurtunity for several characters we have not seen since the New 52 to make an appearance.
“What we’re really addressing is they all exist and have existed and exist within the framework of the New 52,” Jim Lee explains. “Convergence is in many ways the most meta epic event we’ve done.”
TV writer Jeff King will teaming with Dan Jurgens and Scott Lobdell on the Zero issue along with the main Convergence storyline.
