Review: ★★★★☆
Dead Body Road is most definitely a revenge story. It continues the fine work of Justin Jordan and Matteo Scalera from the first series. Skybound adds the quality artwork of Benjamin Tiesma. Mr Tiesma knows how to properly fill a page and give it the proper amount of violence and visceral edge necessary to this tale. At the end of Chapter 2 Tiesma gives us a proper introduction to his own life. The story has an antagonist in the form of one Monk Sinclair. Tiesma does a great job of illustrating this bad guy by making him seem larger then life, but mean as f&%k. OH yeah, they drop the “F” Bomb multiple times in the script. It’s a use it or lose it situation. Our protagonist is one Miss Bree Hale. I believe that she’s the one dealing the revenge in this plot. Tiesman has fun drawing her. She has a Linda Hamiton/Sarah Connor on a bad day vibe thing. She isn’t happy person and has a bone to pick with Monk. It’ll be interesting to see if she can keep it tough when things really get dirty. This is a gritty tale that also has four other characters that are in the mix. Justin Jordan probably has many many plots to continue with these characters. The solid art and story make this a decent read and is far from the usually super hero type fair.
