Review: ★★★★☆
I would think that when any new writer jumps on a new book, they get to go with their take on the character. Chip Zdarsky has to take off where Man Without Fear left off. Matt Murdock is still dealing with his injuries. It’s ironic he was hit by a truck again. Matt/Daredevil doesn’t really need any more character development. 600 plus issues have done that for the character. How does he change up this long time hero? Chip comes up with a great plan that it’s slightly obvious but I believe our friend Wilson(the Kingpin)Fisk has something to do with it. Besides being who Daredevil is he has to deal with his injuries. It’s simply no that good to see DD get his butt kicked in a simple robbery that he should have won easily. The sequence comes across like the beginning of the Netflix Daredevil season 3. The slight uniform change is a nice look that Marco Checchetto has come up with. Daredevil’s arms and hands have wraps that have been done before…and a slightly baggier pants. His cowl does represent the TV version as well. Marco’s art suits the story really well. Chip has a quality start with a #1 issue. Marvel give us a reason to collect again.
