Review: ★★★★☆

Issue #8 gives Willa a nice sense of security. It seems like a nice escape from Barrow and a clear path to save the world. There’s so much about this new world that we don’t know about. Joe Henderson does not allow us to assume anything. We learn a dark secret about the food economy of this world. It’s all about the bugs. It’s the stuff that makes this Skyward world a little more graphic. Don’t worry though, Henderson does but Willa in a potential romantic situation. He also adds some nice foreshadowing to Willa’s potential battle choices. This issue is great with filling in some more of the story. This could be chase story but isn’t really. It makes some sense at the end and adds one more decent question. Lee Garbett continues to fine work with the art. It must be super cool that he gets to illustrate characters in the floating form. The best part is that he pulls it off in every panel. This continues to add to the question of…what if there was no gravity? The next issue is coming soon so don’t miss out.
