Review: ★★★★☆

Through out the last several issues Hawkman has been travelling across the multiverse to find answer questions of his past. Issue #5 lands us into the microverse and a team-up. The Atom appears in this issue and he is a welcome sight. The fourth page is a beautiful two page spread with Atom flying with Hawkman. In Carter’s quest, the pair accidentally battle a giant planet. The battle shows how powerful the Nth metal in Hawkman’s mace can really be. The whole issue is like a nice homecoming with Carter and Ray bantering like old friends should. Bryan Hitch’s artwork really shine in this issue. DC Comics has added the metal ink to this months covers and it really adds to the issue. The end of the story has a nice surprise to hook us on what’s going to happen in the next issue. This series has continued to be an excellent read for new fans and old fan alike.
