Title: Death or Glory #5
Publisher: Image Comics
Writer: Rick Remender
Artist: Bengal
Letterer: Russ Wooten
Cover Artist: Bengal; Rafael Albuquerque
Review: ★★★★☆
Have you ever opened a comic and was totally blown away by the splash page? Bengal does just that with upward shot of Glory simply pumping gas at an old Texaco. The illustration is detailed and fantastic. It gives us a little hope that Glory might actually catch a break. Of course that doesn’t happen…with Pablo in tow, a Mexican cartel and the local sheriff after her…there isn’t much hope for our racer girl. In an effort to make french toast , Glory’s past domestic issues come around and heat up the story…Glory and company are on the run yet again. Remender wants us to completely buy into this chase story by making it non-stop. The final sequence does connect itself to Glory’s past. I hope you remembered how Glory grew up. We have to wait until January for the continuation of Glory’s tale and the fate of her father Red. This has been a great arc that is a quality chase story with an interesting and sexy lead character.
