Review: ★★★★☆

Charles Soule continues his run on Daredevil with a change art duties to Phil Noto. Phil’s art isn’t actually that much different then Mike Henderson’s. He does a great job of keeping Daredevil well lit so we can see every aspect of his costume. Marvel has made an excellent choice in this switch. After the Hand’s raid on New York DD has to deal with the Kingpin’s illegal rise to power. It’s not even the best part of the issue…Hammerhead returns. The opening of the book has the nefarious villain knocking off a bank vault. Soule does make an excellent point that crime can be better served on a laptop nowadays. Hammerhead is simply here to up his street cred and seek media attention. It’s the weapons Hammerhead uses that really screw with Daredevil’s hyper senses. It’s an interesting scene to say the least. The remaining pages deal with the Kingpin situation. Daredevil meets another blind character not seen in many Marvel comics. The book ends on an odd note and a great Hulk joke. Soule has given us a great ride through Devil’s Kitchen, let’s hope it continues.
