Review:  ★★★

We’re now 7 issues into this series and Chip Zdarsky has give us some ups and some downs. It seems that most of the universes our heroes go to are not doing so well. There current location has a “road warrior/gladiator” appeal to it. Apparently Captain America and Iron Man went toe to toe and caused a real global war that did not leave much behind. A one eyed Dr. Strange and a ruling Spider-man are running the show here. Anytime we get different versions of some of characters it’s designed more for shock value, but really nothing more then that…except Dr. Strange puts Doom in his place. The story is set up to help us understand what Rachna Koul has on her agenda. It’s decent intro into her true goals and we get to see Ben literally fall apart. The ending will keep us guessing what’s next for our travelers. Ramon Perez takes over art duties for this issue. He has a good eye for decent layouts and spacious splash pages. I think Ben and Johnny will take many more hits before we then rise to the top and reunite with the Fantastic Four.
