Review: ★★★★☆

Hot off the heals of Deadpool 2, Marvel Comics gives us a new Deadpool series. Cullen Bunn and Mark Bagley brings us this new 6 part series with Deadpool trying to buy his island and retire…sounds like a great plan for old Wade Wilson. The story begins with some hardcore action with Deadpool maiming and ending the lives of some choice assassins. He then moves up to ninjas at that point. The story is very much a Deadpool story with Wade talking to the readers with much zest. I find it hard NOT to hear Ryan Reynolds voice in my head as I read the comic. Mark Bagley’s artwork has never been better. I feel like he’s enjoying his subject matter quite a bit. Mark gives him a nifty smirk under the mask through out most of the book. He provides tons of action and blood that could go on for days. If you can stomach DP in his finest then this 6 issue series should be a treat for new users and old readers alike.
