Review: ★★★★☆
Yeah, yeah, yeah…I know I skipped issue #1. I figured Y’all bought it already cause the damn thing sold out. This volume of the Avengers is designed to return the greatness that made the Avengers so mighty. How does this sound, The Earth’s Mightiest Heroes vs the might of the Celestials? Sounds actually kinda hopeless huh? The Avengers aren’t really a match for these gigantic galactic god like beings. It’s definitely a nice plot device to bring another villain into play. Plus we get to see Captain America, Iron Man and Thor return to the teamwork we have grown to love. The book also has two other superhero variables in play as well. It’s all designed to bring then all together in one huge mighty Avenger team. Ed McGuinness provides the art cores for this run of the series and I can’t be happier. He knows how to illustrate a superhero in a larger then life fashion. He’s no slack on the detail or scale that’s required for this particular tale. The end is almost necessary for this story and the feel of the book. As you read it, you’ll fully understand. The book is published bi-weekly so make sure you catch for the next issue. The book also has excellent re-read value.
