Review: ★★★★☆

Even a dark story like Days of Hate has to take time to sit back and reflect upon the past.  This is achieved in the form of the interrogation of Ms Xing. The look to the past shows us the story of Xing and Amanda. Remember, Amanda is on the run for bombing the Nazis. It’s an intimate look at how Xing and Amanda lived and loved. It points out the subtle things that some of us take for granted in our relationships. In this issue Zezelj does a great job of keeping it intimate with the readers by giving us mostly facial close-ups. It warms us to the character and creates empathy for their story and plight. The end of story has some suggestions of to read along with the book. Surely some odd choices to go with this read. As Amanda is heading south to complicate the story for everyone involved and us, the engaged reader, towards a story that should rise above the hate.
