Review: ★★★★☆

Return to Planet Hulk was such a rush and a welcome retro return to the Hulk’s history. A simple return to earth to smash the place would be the proper thing to do. The whole thing about the story is who is in control.  Is it Amadeus Cho or The Hulk. It seems that gamma radiation tends to create a split personality. The thing that makes this story work so well is that Greg Pak is using Cho’s intelligence to smash everything. Prince Phalkan finds this out the hard way. The Hulk is reborn as a raging revenge machine. It should be a solid ride. Carlo Barberi’s artwork is detailed and fun to enjoy. He pushes the Hulk out of the panel whenever possible and it really works well. I’m hoping he can go darker as the tone changes. The book should be an interesting ride for all fans. I can’t wait to see how the story changes with Marvel’s reboot in May.
