Review: ★★★★☆
Enter the subplot! That’s what Zdarsky and company are presenting for us in the third issue of Marvel 2 in 1. The re-introduction of the classic villain: The Mad Thinker. OH Boy! It’s quite a twist in the end, but totally worth the read. The issue includes the guest star of Hercules and another villain, Hydro-Man. Ben and Johnny are attempting to boost the Human Torch’s powers back to full. In the process we learn one of the secrets to the Fantastic Four’s power sets as a whole. I can’t say I buy it though. Read and ponder for yourselves. Valerio Schiti takes over artist duties for this issue. I do enjoy his pencils and layouts, but miss Cheung just a tad. Marvel 2 in 1 is the build up to the return of the Fantastic Four. It should all lead to Marvel’s relaunch of all their titles (AGAIN). I know True Believers, but until that time this is a solid read and team-up worth your time.
