Review:  ★★★★

We’ve hit the seminal issue of the series since the beginning.  Last issue Archie was given a choice by Veronica to choose her or Betty.  Betty was given a choice by Dilton to choose him or Archie.  Of course some interruptions cause those decisions to be made after everyone gets more time to think, but we do learn everyone’s choices by the end of the issue.  While we won’t ruin the surprise, it definitely is going to have repercussions on their relationships for quite some time.  With certain things figured out for the moment, we also get a sneak peek of the next storyline that should be rocking Riverdale, though it doesn’t sound as exciting as what has come before.   It will be interesting to see where Waid takes things from here.  The issue almost feels like a season finale of a television show, giving us some resolution as well as a cliffhanger as to where things were going.  If this was ending one phase and beginning another, we’re in for the long run to see where things are going.
