Review: ★★★★☆
In case you had previously missed out, Inside Out was a backup story featured in the first five issues of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Universe. The Director’s Cut features the full story combined for the first time, along with the entire storyboards to get an insider look at how it came together. It follows Leonardo going into his own mind to face his fears to strengthen himself mentally for the battles to come. The story really works well because of Sienkiewicz fantastic art. He really knows how to make anything and everything feel surreal and haunting, a perfect fit for Leonardo’s nightmares. Whether you were able to read the entire story the first go around or not, having it all collected together is a real treat, not to mention the icing on the cake of having the behind the scenes look of some amazing comic creators.
