Review:  ★★★★☆

What does Christmas, a drunken EX-COP, an insane Santa Claus, and an imaginary flying blue ASS have in common? Well that would be Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson. In 2012 Image published Happy! and now we get it in trade paperback form. SYFY is also producing a show of the same name, which is why we are probably get this nifty reprint. It is indeed a Christmas Story, but with a much much darker tone. It is not for a younger audience. The language, violence, and sex are the primary reason for this caution. Nick Sax is a detective that has had better days, well, or years. His whole existence revolves around a password, getting drunk, and the mysterious blue ass. Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson have created a solid story with atmosphere a depth. This could be a nice gift for your comic lover this holiday season.
