Review: ★★★☆☆

The one thing I thought was missing from the First Strike series was the lack of ROM and the Micronauts. IDW is making up for that by giving us this little nifty one-shot that ties up the events of Revolutions for the two properties. ROM’s primary purpose is the eliminate the Dire Wraiths’ infections. His programming has been corrupted by the Wraiths and he believes the Micronauts are the Wraiths. It seems a lot just jumping into the middle of the story. It helps if you know a little about each property. It’s a decent read. The artwork uses heavy line work that works well for ROM. The Micronauts are small so the scale in the art is done well too. The ending gives us a little insight for what is about to come around the bend. Baron Karza has a nice appearance at the end. December sees the launch and this one-shot is a good start for the things about to come.
