Review:  ★★★★★

The fallout from Betty’s accident continues this week as everyone tries to get back to normal.  Only things aren’t going to be the same for quite awhile for anyone.  Betty’s father, Hal, blames Archie for the accident and doesn’t want Archie or his family to have anything to do with them anymore.  With large hospital bills piling up, her family needs all the help they can get as the town rallies around them.  I really enjoy that Waid isn’t quickly skirting over any issues as you can feel the very really consequences of what happened.  Hal’s anger is certainly justified since Archie is largely responsible for the crash.  You can really feel the emotions bubbling inside as Archie’s father tries to talk to him as if things haven’t changed between them all.  Even Reggie’s future is up in the air and it doesn’t seem like we’ll know what will happen with him anytime soon.  Mok draws the pain behind his mother’s face and his own as they both feel the weight of what he caused.  Throughout the entire series Waid has known how to tug on our heart strings and this issue nails it perfectly.  There is no other series out there that carries as much emotions per page as Archie does.
