Review: ★★★☆☆

Reading this issue made me feel like a kid again. We had Scarlett (G.I. JOE) and Shockwave (Transformers) teaming up to save Cybertron from its impending doom. There are other G.I. JOE team members there to support the effort, as well as Gloria Baker and Matt Trakker from MASK. The whole plot is to stop the rogue Joe agent Joe Colton. Along the way we get the villains like Destro and Professor Mindbinder to make the plot deeper. This is a fantastic story that uses all of its characters really well.  To do a story like this though you must have an excellent illustrator. Max Dunbar does a fantastic job of the scale and design of the Transformers. If you can’t draw the Transformers convincingly, your story is all most lost. First Strike is an excellent read and with this episode we are left on a decent cliffhanger. I want to believe the story is build up for something bigger and can’t wait to see where it goes from here.
