Review: ★★★★☆

We are now 4 issues in and the evening continues to get even more interesting. Mrs. Peacock and Detective Ochre are down for the count. Mr A. Boddy, who was the original victim, has had a status change. The butler Upton is still talking to us and is our fine narrator. Now the story isn’t just that simple as Mr Green in the library with the candlestick.  This issue we get plenty of flashbacks (Upton is not a fan of said flashbacks). It creates a deeper story that is more money driven for each one of the remaining characters.  There’s a flower that has exponential medicinal values that several of our cast is out to gain. It’s the motive in our murder mystery that continues to turn and turn. The flashbacks help flesh out the story and give us the reasoning to why a couple of the characters have joined us for this fine tale. Nelson Daniel’s artwork is still fantastic. The characters are well designed and fit their namesakes quite well. I still enjoy the zip-a-tone look for the shadows. It makes us feel like weren’t in more than just a board game story line. The coloring does a great job finding each panel’s mood. Obviously this is a short series that eventually be a nice addition to the trades on our shelf. Granted I wouldn’t be sad as all for then to stretch the story some more.
