Review:  ★★★★☆

There several things you need to have a solid Conan story: Conan, check.  Blonde Princess (which is his noble cause here), check. Giant Snake (killed by Conan in the previous issue), check. Giant Monster, check.  So on and so on.  What we get from this book is all this and more. Sergio Davila’s artwork was designed to illustrate Conan. His use of thick and thin lines favor our favorite Barbarian. Cullen has also created nifty dialog boxes to narrate parts of the story. It reminded me of the first Conan film and the narration used with the movie. The story also has an exotic location for Conan to unleash his metal. Now the downside of this book is well the lack of suspense. I’ve read enough Conan stories to know that he is bad ass and the villains are hard pressed to take him down. Otherwise I would say if you’re a fan of the lovable killing barbarian pick up this book and hope the stories continue.
