Review: ★★★★★

Welcome to the next hit Valiant comic, Secret Weapons.  When we first heard Livewire would be headlining a brand new group of psiots, we were already psyched.  She’s one of our favorite characters, so seeing her get the chance to lead a book already had us sold.  Surprisingly enough, after reading the first issue, she isn’t even the one that drew us into the story the most.  Instead it was the new cast of characters that Heisserer has brought to the table, a rag-tag group of forgotten psiots who don’t have normal powers, such as Nicole Finch who can talk to birds or Owen Cho who can conjure things, only it happens randomly and could be just about anything.  The book has plenty of fun with the characters, at least as much as it can since they are being hunted down and killed one by one.  The story and new characters are already solid, but if that weren’t enough, one of our personal favorite Valiant artists is doing the art. Allen does a terrific job with the character designs and action, bringing his special flair to every page.  Everything just comes together to make it one of the best books from Valiant everyone should be jumping into.
