Review: ★★★☆☆

Real Science Adventures is the continuing series presented by Atomic Robo of the same name. The story is set in 1946 and reintroduces characters from the She-Devil Squadron. At first glance the book looks like a cross between Tailspin and The Wild Thornberries (90’s anyone?). It isn’t a bad thing to have this animated style since the book is also a web comic. Every detail uses strong lines to imply a war-torn era. The story places five of the She-Devils on a suicide mission to acquire more powerful gear. I must admit it’s hard getting dropped into the book without further back story. It’s peaked my interest to discover what these characters have been through to get where they are now. The beginning of the issue does give us some foreshadowing to what may eventually come about in the future. The book has a nice add-on story called the Sparrow. It’s an excellent back-up story. It would be well worth your time to find the collected works as well.
