S.H.I.E.L.D. just came off on of the coolest episodes all year-long with the multiple Koenigs played by Patton Oswald.  With that fantastic episode, the writers have given us more.  I feel like “BOOM” simply gave us more angst. Director Mace is having to deal with not having super powers since his serum could kill him. Fitz and Simmons do get to pimp out his suit that makes him look the part of the super hero. He refers to himself as the team mascot at one point. They have made Mace into the “Ward” type character of the show. I actually like the character and they’ve added more dimensions to him as the show progressed.

MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. - "BOOM" - Daisy, Mace and the S.H.I.E.L.D. team must find a way to contain an explosive Inhuman. Meanwhile, Coulson and Mack come face-to-face with Radcliffe's inspiration for Aida, on "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network. Some of the other angst from the show comes from the bad guy side of things. The Russians who are helping the Senator decide that she needs to be outed as an Inhuman like her brother. The results are somewhat explosive on both sides of the coin. It leads to a character that can explode at will. These particular events changes everything that S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Inhumans have been fighting against. Plus, its super cool how the team tries to capture this new exploding character.  We get to see Daisy/Quake in action. It helps the action sequences of the show.

The final part of the show gives us sometime to catch up with Coulson and Mac. They are trying to get the Darkhold back from Radcliff and Aida. They basically go back to square one to find the beginnings of Radcliff’s inspiration for Aida herself. Mallory Jensen happens to be an Australian actress and she plays double duty as Aida and Agnes. It seems Agnes and Radcliff have some history together.

All this leads up to Coulson’s quest to rescue May when it’s all said and done. It has some fantastic moments where our buddy Coulson gets to pull off a great speech. Hopefully they get May back in action since she’s been in Matrix land for quite awhile. The episode was decent and took a turn to give us a little more to go on and added a cliffhanger to boot. I would hope they get to this Superior person that is supposedly calling the shots, but I imagine we will see more on them soon enough.
