Sometimes someone has to really hit rock bottom before they can pull themselves back up.  Frank has hit rock bottom.  He’s lost everything;  his money and even his own identity along with his manhood.  Wallowing in self-pity, he does what he can just to survive until he finally finds the spark to get him going again.  He’s going to find who did this to him, and he’s going to get revenge.  Compared to the first issue, the story unravels much slower, but it was needed.  Having been violated in such a way, of course Frank would lose himself.  Being such an integral part of the story, watching him find his drive again was needed.  While there’s less action, Jef’s art still shines on every page as we follow Frank going through his stages of grief.  Every emotion gets captured, making the story that much more compelling in every single panel.
