Review:  ★★★☆☆

A  long time ago the AVP movie was announced and there was some excitement. The possibility of Aliens and Predator going toe to toe in film was amazing. Maybe there was not enough money to produce the film correctly or simple poor directing caused it to crash and burn. So how does that coincide with the story brought before us?  It sets the expectation and anticipation of what can happen within the story. At this point we have a military group on the ropes and fighting to save themselves. The one thing that makes a lot of the AVP stories work is the human element. One of the “elements” happens to be “pregnant” with a special baby that has the Aliens and Predators attention. We get a nice Predator tribe battle that can work to the advantage for the humans. We also get the horde, THE ALIEN HORDE;  just imagine the awesomeness of hundreds of Aliens filling the page. The story is solid and has a great build up to the next issue. I wish Thies’s artwork showed more detail and sharpness. Otherwise it was an interesting read that has me ready for more.
