Dark Horse Comics have been producing Alien comics since the 80’s. They have had some good stories and some not so good.  The thing about any Alien story is that it comes with a set of assumptions. It has certain look and feel. Aliens Defiance gives us a small crew that happens to be hauling some precious cargo. Like with any “alien” situation things do not go as planed and the crew of he Europa has to deal with pirates. The crew consists of Dr Yang, Private Hendricks and the android Davis. They follow of some one the rules of an Alien story an add a strong female character and a creepy android. It works well for this story. The crew have to deal with these non-descriptive space pirates, that actually look like bank robbers. We don’t really care about the pirates but what happens to the pirates when our crew decides to let out the cargo. The thing about any illustrated Alien story is that the artist has to draw the Aliens with a sense of presence and bring fear of these creatures. The pirates get their what’s due and it’s a scene I would love to see on screen. It’s a quality story and I hope the next one adds to the suspense.
