Review: ★★★☆☆

During ‘Bloodshot Island’, we were introduced to several new Bloodshots, none of which we ever had a chance to learn much about beyond the era of soldier they were.  Now as the group is adrift in the ocean, we have a chance to finally find out a bit more about them.  Each character gets a oppurtunity to tell the group how they became Bloodshot through a few pages of information.  It’s not a whole lot, but honestly it’s probably as much of an origin as we need from them for now.  The nature of the tale means it’s a little slow beyond the stories they tell.  We do get to watch them realize that they can get protein from the fish in the ocean, but how they couldn’t have figured that out immediately is a bit beyond us.  They seem so proud and happy to have noticed this after thinking they wouldn’t survive, while we could have told them that from the first page seeing them in the ocean.  If you don’t pick up the issue, you won’t be missing out on a whole lot of the full story, but Lemire and Giorello still make the issue fun enough to check out.
