Gilad finally comes face to face with his captor that has subjected him to repeated tests and deaths, the Dying One. The ending it self is a bit anticlimactic, but I supposed what can you expect when the villain of the story in another eternal. The Dying One is able to get one last jab in at Gilad by telling him it was he who was behind his son Kalam’s kidnapping. The moment already has so much rage filling it that the reveal doesn’t quite pack the punch it could have had otherwise. Still, it already looks like that reveal will progress into the next arc as Gilad looks for further answers about his son. While the conclusion suffered under the weight of its own spectacular build-up, the art from Allén continued to shine, always being worth the price of admission alone. We don’t necessarily found a resolution here, but it certainly looks as though the Dying One and Kalam will still have large parts to play throughout this series.
