Review:  ★★★★☆

Beauty takes a break from its main characters and plot this week to further explore the world it takes place in.  We for one couldn’t be happier.  Not because we’re tired of the main plot by any means, but this gives Haun and Hurley plenty of freedom to tell new and exciting one-shot in this world to show how Beauty can effect anyone.  In this case it’s a tired gangster who sees Beauty as his way out of his dead-end career once and for all.  Huddleston takes on the art duties and does a fantastic job handling the powerful story.  The disease stays integral to the plot to ensure it still feels like a part of the series.  Sure, the spotlighted character could have taken other routes, but Beauty gives him an easy out.  If you want to disappear, almost magically being able to look completely different makes it simple.  There really is plenty of potential to go in so many directions with this first issue outside feeling fresh and exciting.
