Much like the title character, Fox Pictures film adaptation of the merc with a mouth just won’t die. Deapool is on pace to pass $300 million dollars domestically this weekend. The film is also on the verge of cracking the top 50 all-time films in North America for gross take. We all know what a great time it is to be alive and a fan of comic book films, especially with this years slate of releases. No one could have predicted the overwhelming success Deadpool has been at the box office. It has been the shot in the arm that movie studios may have needed to take a few more chances with their comic book adaptations. Warner Bros. recently announced the home video release of their upcoming juggernaut of a film Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice would be getting an R-rated version of the film along side the theatrical version of the film. While this has apparently been in the works for sometime, the success of Deadpool had to be a factor in Warner Bros. decision to actually release an R-rated film featuring DC Comics big blue boy scout.
Deadpool is in theaters now. Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice arrives in theaters on March 25, 2016
