Review:  ★★★☆☆

Get ready to revel in the absurdity of IDW’s latest crossover that pits several notable characters from the Street Fighter series against the best of the G.I. Joes.  The takes no time throwing us right in as we find M. Bison and Destro have teamed up to host a fighting tournament, one in which the fighting will eventually power a weapon of mass destruction for the pair.  This means several interesting matchups, such as Snake Eyes vs. Crimson Viper, Jinx vs. Ryu, and Baroness vs Rufus, as the highlights.  There actually are some surprises during the fights, as not everyone you would expect to win actually win.  The premise is thin, but at least Laiso is able to put together some impressive fight scenes which is what we really came for anyways.  It already indicates the matchups are going to have to carry the series, so hopefully that will be enough if the frame is this weak going forward.
