Series: Black Series 6″ Phase 3 – Wave 5
By no means is Jango Fett one of my favorite characters in the Star Wars universe. I love Boba Fett and always have, but Jango is the man behind the clones and someone who was stupid enough to go up against a Jedi Master. Was it any surprise he was decapitated? With that out of the way, this is one of the best looking figures to come out of the Black Series line, period.
His head sculpt is actually spot on for an incredible resemblance to Temuera Morrison. The ironic thing about it comes from the back of the packaging. It talks about wearing his helmet to hide his terrible scars, which the figure doesn’t feature. He only had minor scars in the film, so it is not something we expected to see anyways. In the end he could have looked like Jabba the Hutt and it wouldn’t have mattered since we’re sure the helmet is going to be on most the time anyways.
The figure is full of details that really bring it to life. The helmet is a perfect replica and the figure keeps getting better from there. His armor has a phenomenal paint job that really makes it look like weathered metal. It truly is breathtaking and mind-boggling how great of a job they did with the painting. They included the launcher on his right wrist and tubing for his flamethrowers. He has his two-gun holsters for his two identical blasters and of course his jetpack. His blue undersuit has realistic folding for the final finishing touch.
He features several articulation points to throw him in all sorts of great poses. The only thing is you will probably want to attach him to a stand for display. His jetpack is naturally big and adds some weight to the back of the figure. Without a stand you’ll just need to be careful of the weight balance or it can tip over.
Everything about the figure is spectacular. With his two blasters pointed out, he looks as though they pulled him straight out of the movie. It may not be enough to redeem anything about Attack of the Clones or his avoidable death, but this figure is a great start in the right direction. It’s that good.
