A new threat has wiped out MI-6’s Unexplained Phenomena Research Facility and absconded with one of Ninjak’s very recent foes to the Deadside. After a MI-6 group went to the Deadside for retrieval and only one survived, Ninjak has been called in to assist Punk Mambo in going in. It is a little out of Ninjak’s normal realm, hence the new and improved bodysuit he has created for himself, which looks a little ridiculous, but does serve an actual functional purpose. The entire issue is framed by Neville who is giving his report on the mission to his superior. On one hand it works to build anticipation for the arc, as we quickly find out things went very wrong. While we’re excited to know exactly what went wrong, it does have the side effect of taking us out of the moment throughout the story. Hopefully the rest of the series will forgo that frame as it really is distracting at times. Otherwise, while we would not naturally think of Punk Mambo and Ninjak teaming up, we always love to see her and her interactions with him are really entertaining as the two take verbal jabs at one another.
