Mark Waid knows how to perfectly capture the teenage spirit and present it in an engaging, charming way, something he proves with each new issue of Archie. From the start of the series we’ve known Archie and Betty had a huge falling out and finally we know why. There is the “lipstick incident” that broke them apart, but it really is deeper than that. The story told is the natural, common progression of a teenage couple growing apart. Neither was right, neither was wrong, it just came down to life taking them down different paths. You can’t help but feel and relate to both characters. This is Archie for a new generation,a series that even old fans should have no problem falling in love with.
