Review:  ★☆☆☆☆

For a book titled after Conan, the barbarian gets very little focus this issue.  Instead we jump right into a plot involving his new queen being overthrown by her twin sister, who was cast aside at birth and has now come to reclaim what she believes is her’s.  First we have the fact that the storyline sounds straight from the Young and the Restless, so you could be confused whether you are reading Conan or watching CBS in the afternoon.  Second, the evil twin plays to one of the biggest villain tropes by spending almost the entire issue telling her sister about how she was raised and what her plans are now.  It doesn’t help that this is the first real-time we get to meet the Queen, who previously was just used in the background, but that was the least of the problems.  Conan the Avenger typically hits the mark, but when we finally do see Conan and the fighting gets glossed over, we have problems.
