Microsoft and The Coalition will be giving gamers who purchase Gears of War: Ultimate Edition a special bonus. Any one who purchases and plays the Ultimate Edition on Xbox One will receive the backwards compatible versions of Gears of War 1-3 and Gears of War: Judgement for free. There is one catch. Gamers must purchase and play Gears of War: Ultimate Edition between the game’s launch on August 25th, and the end of 2015. This announcement is no doubt great news for those of us who were hoping for the previous Gears titles to make their way to Xbox One. The announcement of the Gears series being backwards compatible, while not surprising, is great to have officially confirmed.
In addition to the previous titles, gamers will also receive access to the Gears of War 4 beta in 2016. Let us know if you’re looking forward to revisiting the Gears universe on your Xbox One. Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will hit Xbox One consoles in a few short, on August 25th.
