E3 2015: Microsoft Press Conference Recap

Today was the first official day of E3 and it started with a bang. Microsoft not only showed off gameplay of Halo 5 Guardians, but immediately followed it up with announcing that the Xbox One would be receiving Backwards Compatibility.

Microsoft shaking things up with that announcement moved on to EA. EA making some big announcements regarding EA Access. Those being that it will be free for all Xbox One users for this week as well as Titanfall will be heading to the EA Vault this month and Dragon Age Inquisition next month. Then they revealed Plants Vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2.

From there, focus shifted to Forza 6, with Microsoft and Turn showing off the gameplay and revealing the release date.

Then Bethesda would show off some more Fallout 4 gameplay and making two exclusive Xbox One announcements regarding Fallout 4.

Then we got the announcement that Dark Souls 3 is real and happening

From there, we got one of the best announcements next to the Backwards Compatibility news, that being Rare is not only coming out with a Pirate themed game, but also the Rare Replay Collection. 30 Games for $30

Then we move to onto the ID Xbox portion, with Microsoft showing off some great new indy games coming. They made a big announcement with the implementing of Xbox Game Preview. Which much like Steam Early Access, will allow you to buy games while they’re still in development and beta test them.

Then Ubisoft took the stage to make some awesome announcements for Rainbow Six Siege and The Division

Then, Microsoft announced partnerships with Oculus Rift and Valve VR while showing off their own Hololens.

Then to close out their conference, Microsoft and Coalition announced Gears Of War Ultimate. A Remastering of the original game for Xbox One.

But the Gears Of War announcements weren’t done, as they not only announced but shown off an exclusive level from Gears Of War 4.
