We’ve attended Gem City Comic Con now for several years. In previous years, you really didn’t see many cosplayers dressing for the con, but things are changing fast. Last year the convention was moved to a bigger location and the turnout keeps growing! Luckily we were there to see the convention first hand and photograph all of the great cosplayers that made it down to Dayton. We loved all the costumes we saw, so we can’t decide who deserves best of the show; but that’s where you come in.
You the readers get to choose who had the best costume of the show. It goes by picture, some are solo, some are a team. If you see yourself, vote for yourself, that’s not cheating; really its fine. If you want your friends to throw a vote your way, they can too so tell them to vote! Spamming the vote box with multiple votes for yourself or favorite in one day is a no-no, though; death lasers will engage. Everyone is allowed to vote once per day (every 24 hours).
The top three winners will get featured on our homepage and be used as our feature image when we announce the winners, forever immortalizing them on our site. Comments are welcome at the bottom of the post, just be nice and fair to everyone. So get ready, prepare to be cosplay amazed, and vote in the poll at the bottom after the pretty pics!
We try to always make sure that we tag everyone correctly, but sometimes, even as sad as it makes us to admit, we unfortunately don’t know everything. If we miss tagged your picture or couldn’t tag it at all, hence some our listed as ‘Costume A’ and so on, let us know and we will fix it right away. You can contact us at firstappearancecomics@yahoo.com or comment below.
The voting period is two weeks from today, so the poll closes April 20th!

Of course, we would love to add you! Do you have a picture online we can use? If not you can send us one and we’ll add it right away.
That’s great! What would be a good email address to send the image?
Just send it to firstappearancecomics@yahoo.com and we will take care of the rest.
Costumes C look like The Doctor (female version of 11) and one of the Scouts from Attack on Titan (from the blonde wig, probably Annie Leonhart, Krista Lenz, Historia Reiss, or Armin Arlert. My money is on Annie)
Woops, I mean costumes D. Though one of the people from “costumes C” look like they might ALSO be a character from Attack on titan. Not sure though.
Thanks for the tip! Costume D has been updated to reflect the information.
This morning I awoke to several comments regarding spam votes that had occurred on the poll. This was deeply saddening as this section is meant to be a place to celebrate and have fun with your fellow fans and cosplayers and it has turned the wrong direction. We have the ability to track IP addresses on votes and comments, so it was not difficult to see those comments were false as that IP address had not cast a vote for who they said they did.
We made the decision to be a little less lax on the poll security as tightening it can make it hard for those at work and at school who share the same network to vote properly. In our edition at C2E2 we will correct this so it can stay fun and fair to all.
In the end there was cheating going on to benefit just about everyone from what we now see, but it was not enough to actually change the rankings in the end. The percentages are relatively the same, so the top three costumes are still the same and we will be posting the winners page later today.
We still look forward to seeing everyone next year at GCCC 2015 and hope this situation has not soured anyones experience.
